KINGSTON – A Kingston man has been convicted by an Ulster County
Court jury of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession
of a controlled substance.

Willie Rodriguez, 31, who was found guilty on Friday, is scheduled to
be sentenced in October.

The case stemmed from State Police and the Ulster County URGENT Task Force
receiving information in December 2017 about the location of two stolen
guns.

The agencies conducted an undercover sting operation at 79 Livingston
Street in the Village of Saugerties to recover the weapons.

That operation resulted in the arrests of Skylar Eichert, Gina Julian
and Rodriguez.

Eichert was charged with selling the weapons, pled guilty to criminal
possession of a weapon and was previously sentenced to 10 years in state
prison.

Julian was charged with heroin-related crimes and pled guilty to criminal
possession of drugs. Her sentencing is pending.

Rodriguez was charged with having purchased one of the guns along with
possessing 120 bags of heroin with intend to sell.
