CUDDEBACKVILLE – Police and fire personnel spent all day Sunday
on the Neversink River continuing their search for a 46-year-old dad and
his nine-year-old son who were swept away in the rain swollen Neversink
River at Cuddebackville.

The missing youth was rafting with a 16-year-old when the craft overturned
near the Oakland Valley Campground.

The father of the nine-year-old and another man swam out to the boys and
the other man was able to bring the older youth to the shore, but the
dad and his son were swept downstream.

Water rescue teams from Orange, Sullivan and Pike counties were out with
boats and divers for a second day on Sunday.

The search is resuming this morning.
