GOSHEN – Deputy Orange County Executive Wayne Booth is retiring
effective February 28, 2019 so to maintain a smooth transition out of
the position, County Executive Steven Neuhaus Monday announced he was
placing county Director of Operations Harry Porr into the number two spot
and placing Booth in Porr’s current position.

Prior to joining Neuhaus at the start of his first term five years ago,
Booth was Newburgh town supervisor, a post he held for 12 years. He worked
for eight years before that in the town’s building and parks and
recreation departments.

The change in positions takes effect Monday and was approved by the county
legislature’s Personnel and Compensation Committee also on Monday.
Porr’s new job will require confirmation by the legislature at its
September 6 meeting.

Porr previously served as village administrator in Bronxville and before
that city manager in Newburgh.
