WHITE PLAINS – A Scarsdale man was sentenced by Westchester County
Court Judge Barry Warhit on Wednesday to 20 years in state prison for
the death of his wife.

Julius Reich, 64, pled guilty in May to manslaughter in the stabbing death
of his wife, Dr. Robin Goldman on January 20, 2016.

The couple was in the process of getting a divorce and he split his time
between an apartment in Manhattan and their shared home in Scarsdale.

On the morning of the murder, Reich entered the upstairs bathroom where
he stabbed Goldman several times in the chest, abdomen and back. She died
at the scene.

He later went downstairs, called 911. Scarsdale police officers responded
and found Goldman dead in the bathroom. Reich was arrested at the scene.

Reich entered his guilty plea just before his trial was to begin. Goldman’s
adult children expressed to the district attorney and court it was their
strong desire to avoid the trauma of a trial. They are in agreement with
the manslaughter plea.
