Bus driver fell asleep before vehicle tipped

SMALLWOOD – The driver of a full-size coach bus that ran off the road and tipped on Sunday morning fell asleep at the wheel, investigators with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office found.
Andrea Pressley, 48, of Willingboro, New Jersey was driving in a six-bus convoy from Secaucus, New Jersey to an undisclosed summer camp to pick up passengers when the incident occurred on Route 17B between Mongaup Valley and Smallwood.
Pressley was trapped when the bus rolled over into a ditch and had to be extricated by firefighters. She was transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
Route 17B was closed for three hours.
The investigation is continuing.
Responding to the scene were fire departments from Smallwood Mongaup, Kauneonga Lake and Monticello, Bethel Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mobile Medic ambulance and State Police.
