Fallsburg Tunnel (Sullivan County Historical Society)
MONTICELLO – Sullivan County is seeking state funding through the
Consolidated Funding application process for a number of projects.
Among them is predevelopment to create a new industrial park on county-owned
property behind the former Apollo Mall in Monticello in one of the federally-designated
Opportunity Zones locally.
Another application would pay for acquisition of a portion of the former
O&W rail bed in South Fallsburg including the Fallsburg Tunnel to
add to existing rail trail segments.
Construction of improvements to a Delaware River access point near Barryville
and acquiring riverfront property in Callicoon for parkland with walking
trails and Delaware River access are among other projects seeking state
funding.
