OSHA to investigate fatal fall of tree service worker

MIDDLETOWN – The US Department of Labor’s Occupational, Safety and Health Administration has opened an inspection of JHM Tree Service in the Town of Wallkill following the fatal fall of a worker from a bucket truck.
The victim, whose name police have not made public, was a 25-year-old Middletown resident.
The man was some 40 feet up in a bucket truck on Highland Avenue in Middletown when he fell around mid-day on Monday. He was rushed to the hospital where he died on Tuesday.
Following the fatal incident, Middletown Police said it did not appear he was wearing a safety harness or restraint.
