KINGSTON – The Poughkeepsie man whose Porsche rammed into a pickup truck as he was fleeing from Lloyd Town Police on the evening of July 1, killing the driver of the truck, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Ryan Williams, 29, of Poughkeepsie failed to comply with Lloyd Town Police officers who attempted to pull him over. He fled westbound on Route 299 at high speed and as he approached the intersection at South Street, he struck the side of a Ford. The Porsche then crossed over into the opposite lane of travel and struck a pickup head-on. A Toyota then struck the rear of the Porsche.
The pickup driver, Danielle Pecoraro, 39, died at the scene.
Williams was taken to Westchester Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Williams, who was also charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
