Monticello fire destroys mobile home

MONTICELLO – Firefighters in Monticello battled a mobile home fire that left a family homeless.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, firefighters were dispatched to 22 Carol Way in the Delano Village area of Monticello for a blaze that destroyed a mobile home. The fire originated in a living room area and was declared under control in an hour.
Occupants of the home were relocated with family. No injuries were reported.
The fire is being investigated by the Monticello Fire Department and investigators from the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire.
Mutual aid tankers were called in from Forestburgh and Rock Hill fire departments. Fallsburg firefighters were on standby in Monticello. Monticello Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and Mobile Medic EMS were on standby at the scene.
