Woman charged with beating, stabbing man in domestic incident

KINGSTON – A 25-year-old
Esopus woman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man in a domestic
incident at 240 Salem Street.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office charged Nicole Rios with felony
assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.

When deputies arrived at the scene, Rios had fled, but was discovered
at a nearby mobile home park where she was taken into custody.

The victim was transported for treatment to the Health Alliance of the
Hudson Valley Broadway Campus in Kingston.

Investigation revealed that Rios had struck the victim with a broomstick,
a lamp, and a ping-pong paddle, before slicing him with a kitchen knife.
He was treated and released for the wounds to his arm.

Rios was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail
or $40,000 bond.
