CARMEL – The Putnam Veterans Memorial Park became a haven for dogs this weekend when the Putnam Kennel Club conducted its annual dog show.
Hundreds of dogs comprising dozens of breeds converged on the park with their owners and handlers from across the eastern U.S. for the 48-hour-long competition.
Dogs were pampered and indulged during the preparation for the contests.
Virtually every type of dog was represented ranging from Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, a Bedlington terrier, Dogue Bordeaux, Old English Sheep dogs and Welsh Corgis to Boston Terriers, Shih Tzu’s, Bernese Mountain dogs, Bullmastiffs and Kerry Bleu terriers.

A champion Bedlington terrier named “Alyssa” and  owned by Heather Foti
of Garrison was a favorite
