WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Kisco woman was arrested in the theft of a vehicle from a Mount Kisco car dealership using a stolen identity. The arrest was linked to a series of similar thefts throughout Westchester County.
Shamakia Walker, 30, turned herself in to Mount Kisco Police. She was charged with grand larceny and identity theft, both as felonies.
The complaint alleges Walker went to Mariano Rivera Toyota in Mount Kisco on January 15 where she assumed the identity of another person to secure a $52,000 car loan to purchase a new 2017 Toyota 4Runner SUV.
The stolen vehicle has not been recovered.
The case is one of a string of related auto thefts from October 2017 to February 2018 with a stolen Lexus at Ray Catena Lexus in Larchmont; a stolen Land Rover at Land Rover of New Rochelle; a stolen Toyota 4 Runner from Rivera Toyota in Mount Kisco; a stolen Range Rover from Croton AutoPark in Croton-on-Hudson; and a stolen Mercedes S500 from Mercedes-Benz of Golden’s Bridge.
Two other people were previously arrested in similar cases, Jankely Hidalgo, 29, and 33-year-old Jonathan Sevilla.
