Pine Plains man arrested in domestic hammer assault

PINE PLAINS – A Pine Plains man was arrested by State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks on Sunday in connection with an alleged domestic assault with a hammer.
Troopers were called to Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck after nurses reported a possible victim of domestic violence.
Investigators found the victim was apparently assaulted with a hammer by James Macisaac, 34, on Friday, July 13.
Macisaac was located at his Church Street, Pine Plains residence and arrested on a charge of felony assault. He was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
