Poughkeepsie man arrested in domestic incident that sent partner to the hospital

HYDE PARK – A Poughkeepsie man was arrested on Sunday in connection
with a domestic assault that occurred in the Town of Hyde Park on June
28 that sent the victim to the hospital.

State and Hyde Park Police were alerted to the incident right after it
occurred, but when they went to the scene, the victim was reluctant to
speak.

She was transported to Vassar Medical Center due to serious injuries.
Investigation eventually led to the victim and a warrant was issued on
the 14th. The following day, the suspect, Michael Nicholas, 32, turned
himself in to State Police at Rhinebeck where he was charged with felony
assault.

He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail pending a future
court appearance.
