Roddey (file): “… I still
love
being mayor …”

GOSHEN – Kyle Roddey will step down as part-time mayor in the Village of Goshen in the next month or so.
Roddey, a social studies teacher at Twin Towers Middle School in Middletown, has been named assistant principal at Goshen High School.
He said he still enjoys the mayor’s role after serving for eight years.
”As the mayor I gave Goshen my best every day and I still love being mayor now as much as I did when I started, but when you go to a school leader position like an assistant position in a high school, there are games after school, there are concerts, there are clubs,” Roddey said. “Village Hall closes at 4:30 every day and I would be at school events well beyond 4:30, so I want to focus on doing the best as I can for the students at Goshen High School.”
Village elections are held in March so the village board will name an interim mayor until the next election at which time that person will run for a full term.
