POUGHKEEPSIE – With 2018 the Year of the Veteran in Dutchess County, County Clerk Brad Kendall is encouraging vets to enroll in the Return the FAVOR discount program.
To date over 4,000 veterans have registered in the program in which over 250 participating businesses offer discounts on purchases and services to cardholders.
The card can also be used for one hour of free parking in the parking lot adjacent to the County Office Building at 22 Market Street in Poughkeepsie.
Honorably discharged vets living in Dutchess may obtain their FAVOR card by bringing their military separation papers – DD-214, WDO-AGO 53-55 or other, indicating their full-time active duty service, to the Division of Veterans Affairs Office at 85 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 105, in Poughkeepsie, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Once verified, they must go to the county clerk’s office on the first floor of 22 Market Street and press the “J” category at the customer service booth to be issued a FAVOR card.
“The county clerk’s office continues our effort to recognize the service and sacrifice made by Dutchess County veterans through this important program,” said Kendall.
