GOSHEN – Norwegian Air’s successful first year of nonstop service to five European cities from New York Stewart International Airport at Newburgh has prompted speculation as to where the low-cost carrier may fly next.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus has his own wish list.
“I would like to see a direct to London Heathrow, a direct to Paris, and a direct to Munich, Germany,” Neuhaus said. “I think there is a very good chance you are going to see more flights, so I would not be shocked if any or all of those become reality. But, we need to continue to show they are successful by coming to our region, which has been doing it.”
Norwegian officials have said they are continuing to explore other destinations from New York Stewart.
The airline currently serves Dublin and Shannon in Ireland; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Bergen, Norway.
