Port Jervis man sentenced to PA jail for drugs, threating an arresting officer

MILFORD – A Port Jervis man was sentenced to 1 month to 12 months in the Pike County PA jail, to run consecutive to his Contempt sentence, and a fine of $500 for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. 
George Handelong, 40, was a passenger in a vehicle which was stopped by the Eastern Pike Regional Police Department on April 22, 2018, while traveling along Routes 6 & 209 in Westfall Township for tinted windows.  In speaking with the driver, the officer detected the smell of Marihuana.  Handelong was found in possession of hypodermic needles. While under arrest he persisted in making threats of retaliation on the arresting officer.
Handelong was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.
