Columbia County worker charged with stealing money from employee club account

GREENPORT – A month-long investigation into missing money from an employee-based club account at the Columbia County Department of Social Services, has concluded with the arrest of a Hudson woman.
 
The Sunshine Club is entirely an employee run and funded club that uses its money for various employee events.  No county is involved.
The investigation, which included an audit of the club account, revealed that more than $1,000 dollars has been stolen from the club. 
On Friday, Investigators arrested and charged Pamela Hallenbeck of Hudson. She is charged with Grand Larceny, a felony, and is free on bail.
Hallenbeck was the treasurer for the Sunshine Club and is an employee of the Columbia County Department of Social Services.  She was placed on administrative leave from the Department of Social Services at the start of the investigation.
