PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis will sell non-potable water for the Precision Pipeline extension in western Orange County.
Mayor Kelly Decker said the city will sell truckloads to the company at $500 each.
“Precision had approached us in regard to their need for some water, apparently in doing their pipeline project,” Decker said. “We’ve sold water before when the bridge on I-84 was being done over, the company came to us, and so because our reservoirs are in great standing right now, we agreed to sell the water.”
The city set a limit of 25,000 gallons of water per truckload. The city council approved the sale last week.
