Lt. Gen. Williams

WEST POINT – Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams is the new superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point. He will officially assume his duties on Monday morning, at about the same time as the Class of 2022 checks in on Reception Day.
Williams is a 1983 graduate of West Point, who holds a masters’ degree in Leadership Development, Military Art and Science, and National Security and Strategic Studies.
He has served in leadership positions in Germany, South Korea and was commanding general for the US Army Warrior Transition Command and Assistant Surgeon General for Warrior Care and Transition and most recently served as commander, Allied Land Command, North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Turkey.
Williams’ awards and decorations include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Parachutist Badge, Presidential Service Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
