TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man has been arrested and charged with felony criminal contempt for violating a stay away order of protection for a protected party after it was learned that the woman with whom he was riding bicycles was that protected individual.
Marlin Baker, 27, was committed to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
The two people and a third individual were observed riding bikes on Main Street on Thursday, June 21. The caller who called Poughkeepsie Town Police said the bikes were stolen from him in the City of Poughkeepsie, but never reported.
After Baker was arrested, the person who reported the bicycles stolen declined to press charges.
