Agility is an essential trait for any police dog

GOSHEN – Five police K-9 teams graduated from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Academy on Friday.
Graduating teams were:

Sgt. Dustin Palen, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 Skip
Deputy Mike Muller, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 Maverick
Deputy Chris Irwin, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 Kato
Middletown City Police Officer Jordan McInerney and his K-9 Storm
Town of Kent Police Officer Corey Ashe and his K-9 Maverick

The 16-week training included instruction on obedience, tracking, agility, suspect searches, apprehension techniques and handler protection.
“These graduates will be assets to their police departments and the communities they serve,” said Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois.
