Hoovler:: “… our society sometimes forgets …”

WARWICK – Anti-Semitism, not only in the Hudson Valley, but around the nation and world, remains a fact of life.
It was brought home to Orange County less than two years ago when a Jewish cemetery in Warwick was desecrated with Nazi graffiti.
On Sunday, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced that his office will be partnering with the Orange County Jewish Federation to launch an awareness campaign for the general public, schools and police.
“As we move forward in time, our society sometimes forgets and every once in a while we have to step back and make sure people do not forget,” Hoovler said. “I think that public service campaign, I think that educational materials and particularly what will be done to train law enforcement is much needed and is very welcome and I am very thankful that the federation has contributed in taking the lead and will assist in the funding of that.”
The educational campaign is expected to begin in the fall.
