NEW CITY – Rockland County Human Rights Commissioner Constance Frazier was appointed in July 2017 when Human Rights and the county Community Development Office were combined.
She resigned at the end of May of this year when she raised the issue of the agencies being combined. Her concerns were taken seriously and at the urging of County Executive Edwin Day, the county legislature separated the two.
As a result, Frazier has agreed to return to her human rights commissioner post.
“Connie brought great energy to the Human Rights Depart and we are thrilled to have her back,” said County Legislature Chairman Toney Earl.
The chairman of the county Human Right Commission, Daniel Salmon, said, “Ms. Frazier reinvigorated our commission, ran events and an interfaith summit and truly has the best interests of Rockland’s citizens at heart.”
Her reappointment must be confirmed by the county legislature.
