WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon man was arraigned Friday before Westchester
County Court Judge Anne Minihan in connection with the beating death of
his two-year-old son.
Lloyd Scott, 34, was charged with one count of murder and two counts of
manslaughter.
It is alleged that on April 16, Scott was alone with his son while the
tot’s mother was working and he beat the child and put him to bed.
When the mother returned home, Scott told her their son was sleeping.
She checked on him and found he was not breathing.
Scott drove them to the hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
Following an autopsy, the medical examiner said the child suffered blunt
force trauma to his body.
Scott was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
