NEWBURGH – The City of
Newburgh Water Department is seeking volunteers for its annual lead and
copper sampling program. The samples need to be taken from city water
customers and once they are examined, each will receive results of the
tests.

Volunteers being sought must live in a single-family or multi-family home
with copper plumbing with lead solder and have been constructed after
1982 and before 1986. Any type of building served by a lead service line
is also eligible.

Any city resident who would like to volunteer to get a free lead and copper
sample should call the water department at 845-561-6080.

Any resident who believes they have a lead service line should call the
water department at 845-565-3356 to get on the preliminary list for a
lead service line replacement grant.
