HIGHLAND FALLS – A developer is seeking financial incentives to build a luxury hotel and conference center on Route 9W in Highland Falls.
Church Hill Properties is seeking a 10-year PILOT, mortgage filing fee and building materials sales tax exemptions, said Orange County Industrial Development Agency Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso.
“They are building, basically to suit the needs of West Point so they have plans to build a luxury hotel that will include a conference center food service,” Villasuso said. “Their project cost in total is about $79.5 million. It’s the former Pointer Echo Hotel on Route 9W, which will be demolished and replaced with this new one.”
The five-story, 122-room hotel is expected to employ 118 people.
The IDA board accepted the application for incentives and will conduct a public hearing before rendering a final decision.
