NEW WINDSOR – For the second time in a couple of weeks, the Jewish community of the region celebrated the completion of a new sacred handwritten Torah scroll.
On Sunday, members of Chabad of Eastern Orange County marched down Union Avenue in New Windsor to proudly display the new scroll.
Earlier this month, members of Mid-Hudson Chabad participated in a procession on Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie with that group’s new scroll, said to be the first time such a procession took place in the region.
