POUGHKEEPSIE –Police in Poughkeepsie arrested a teen after they executed a search warrant at 206 South Avenue in the city Friday morning. Aqel Scott, 17, was charged with criminal possession of drugs, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence, all as felonies, and a misdemeanor of criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Members of the City Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit and Emergency Services Unit, along with the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, seized close to 12 grams of cocaine, a loaded, defaced .32 caliber handgun, approximately $1,100 in cash and several articles used in the distribution of drugs.
