TOWN OF WALLKILL – Geritrex, LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of over-the-counter generic creams and lotions, is planning to leave its current location in Mount Vernon because its lease is expiring.
The entire operation will relocate to Tower Drive in the Town of Wallkill. Orange County Partnership President Maureen Halahan’s agency is involved in the transaction.
“We have been looking out for them, trying to make sure that we can bring this opportunity to Orange County, but right now this is all in the planning stages and I think there is going to be a lot more to come that we can share with you as this project moves forward,” Halahan said.
According to a state Labor Department Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice, Geritrex is laying off all 26 employees in Mount Vernon before July 20. The notice said the closing date is June 30.
Geritrex Chief Financial Officer David Gershen did not return a phone call for comment.
