SAUGERTIES – A two vehicle crash on the southbound Thruway in Saugerties injured three people. One was airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Two others were transported to Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.
The accident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday near exits 20 and 21.
Preliminary investigation revealed that heavy moving traffic was slowing or coming to a full stop due to a property damage accident. A van-type vehicle struck the rear end of another vehicle that was stopped, seriously injuring one person in the van.
