STANFORDVILLE – Three people were killed when the car in which
they were riding crashed into a house on Route 82 near the intersection
of Bulls Head Road in Stanfordville Monday.

State Police were called to the scene just before 11 p.m. where they found
a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer had crashed into a house and burst into flames,
causing the front of the house to catch fire as well.

The two front seat passengers, according to a source, a husband and wife
in their 40s who lived nearby, were pronounced dead at the scene. A rear
seat passenger, said to have been the 35-year-old cousin of the wife,
died at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, trooper said.
The sole occupant of the house was able to escape uninjured.

According to the source, the driver appears to have lost control, struck
a utility pole and crashed into the house.
