MARLBORO – Officials in the Marlboro Central School District and
Marlboro Town Police are investigating a report of threatening comments
about students on a list in the Marlboro Middle School.

Police said they are investigating and there is “no reason to believe
anyone is in danger.”

Superintendent of Schools Michael Brooks said a middle school student
Monday overheard a threat about students on a list.

The district began an immediate investigation, notified the school resource
officer and police.

“At this point, we are confident that the situation has been dealt
with appropriately and we are grateful to the students and parent that
reported this issue to the MMS administration,” Brooks wrote in
a letter to parents.
He said that “no threat, however severe or insignificant, can be
ignored.”

Brooks also said counselors are available to speak to parents and students
to help children with any concerns they may have.
