Barn fire claims lives of race horses

OTISVILLE – More than two dozen race horses are reported to have
perished when fire raged through a 300-foot by 80-foot barn at 335 Guymard
Turnpike early Saturday morning.
The facility was located at the Mount Hope Training Center where as many
as 26 horses died.
The three-alarm fire was reported around 3 a.m. with several fire departments
from Orange and Sullivan counties responding under mutual aid to assist
in Otisville.

Command called for additional tankers for water supply to quell the flames
consuming the 300-foot by 80-foot structure..
By 7:50 a.m., fire departments returned from the scene.
