NEWBURGH – Fire late Wednesday morning in Newburgh destroyed two sheds and damaged four other buildings at Carpenter Avenue at First Street.
The commercial property is the location of a lumber yard and recycling company for the storage and refinishing of furniture.
Firefighters had difficulty battling the flames because of wind conditions and low water pressure. The sheds were destroyed and the four other buildings sustained exposure damage.
Assistant Fire Chief John Ryan said the cause of the fire remains under investigation
