CORTLANDT – An elderly Cortlandt couple died from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning, State Police said.
Cornelius Dennis, 86, and his wife, Joan, 85, of Skytop Drive were found dead in their home on Saturday, May 26.
Initial investigation suggests they returned home and inadvertently left their vehicle running in the garage. The buildup of carbon monoxide is believed to have led to their deaths of May 23.
The bodies were discovered on May 26 when a neighbor noticed three days of newspapers outside their residence.
