CARMEL – A Yorktown man faces felony drug charges after his car ran out of gas in Putnam Valley and a Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy found over five pounds of alleged marijuana in his car.
A deputy on patrol early on the morning of May 20 found Thomas Disieno, 36, in his car, which was stopped diagonally across Peekskill Hollow Road with its hazard lights on. He told the deputy he had run out of gas.
The deputy could smell marijuana from coming from the car. Five vacuum sealed bags, containing over five pounds of suspected pot, along with 35 packages of alleged concentrated cannabis oil for use in vaping devices, were recovered from the car.
Disieno was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both as felonies, as well as vehicle and traffic violations. He was found to have a suspended driver’s license.
