WHITE PLAINS – A student at New Rochelle High School was arraigned as a juvenile offender on charges related to a stabbing at the school on January 18.
Bryan Stamps, 15, was charged with attempted murder and assault as felonies, and misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sent to Woodfield Cottage in Valhalla without bail.
The felony complaint against Stamps alleges that he stabbed another student inside the high school. That student was taken to a hospital trauma unit where he underwent surgery and was treated for serious injuries.
Stamps fled New York. After close to four months, the FBI located him in Alabama where he was taken into custody on May 14.  He was returned to Westchester County on Wednesday.
