KINGSTON – A Poughkeepsie man, who is an inmate in the Ulster County Jail, was charged with felony criminal mischief following an incident just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Ulster Sheriff’s Office said Christopher White, 35, was being placed in a transport vehicle in the jail by corrections officers as he was being prepared for a court appearance on an unrelated charge. He became combative and kicked the windows of the vehicle, breaking them and causing extensive damage.
White was removed from the vehicle and subdued. He was returned to jail pending arraignment in Kingston City Court.
