PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis’ only supermarket, Sav-A-Lot, will open in its new location at the remodeled Port Plaza in a couple of weeks. It will replace its former location on Jersey Avenue, which was about half the size of the new store.
Mayor Kelly Decker said the supermarket, as well as other tenants, will breathe new life into downtown Port Jervis.
“There is a nail salon that is expected to open real soon and there are several different stores already under negotiations opening with the owner,” Decker said. “There are two restaurants that are in conversation with them as well as some service-oriented types of businesses.”
The supermarket is interviewing to fill positions for the new store.

Sav-A-Lot will be the first tenant in the long dormant and rehabilitated Port Plaza at the foot of Pike Street
