Long-established business boarded up following fire

NARROWSBURG – Fire officials continue to investigate the cause of a fire at 90 Main Street in Narrowsburg Friday night that damaged a furniture store and neighboring funeral home. There were no reports of injuries.
Some 10 minutes after power was restored at 9:50 p.m. smoke was seen coming from Rasmussen’s Furniture Store.
Firefighters evacuated residents from the second floor and contained the fire that had broken out. The furniture store appears to have sustained heavy damage and the funeral home had smoke and water damage.                                  
The Narrowsburg Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from Lava, Lake Huntington, Yulan, Jeffersonville, Welcome Lake PA, and Beach Lake PA fire departments.
