Tornadoes confirmed in Mid-Hudson – UPDATE!

MID-HUDSON – The National Weather Service says four confirmed tornadoes
touched down on Tuesday in the region.

In Putnam County, one hit in Patterson and another struck in Kent.

A third tornado was confirmed in the City of Newburgh in Orange County
and a fourth was confirmed in Yulan in Sullivan County.

Crews are out across the region on Wednesday removing downed trees and
repairing utility lines following Tuesday’s storm.

The state of emergency remains in effect in Sullivan County.

A number of comfort stations have been set up in the region.

The Red Cross has a center at Fishkill Town Hall on Route 52.

The Newburgh Armory Unity Center in Newburgh is open tonight for shelter
as well as food and water for anyone impacted by the story.

Gold’s Gym in the Town of Newburgh has opened its doors to the public
for showers and cell phone charging stations.

Planet Fitness gym locations in the area have also opened their doors
for victims of the storms.

In Putnam County, comfort stations are at the Putnam Valley Friendship
Center, Patterson Recreation Center and Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association
in Brewster.
