STANFORDVILLE – State Police arrested a Poughkeepsie man on Tuesday on a charge of felony robbery in connection with the August 7, 2017 robbery of the Bank of Millbrook’s Stanfordville branch in the Town of Stanford.
On that date, a man entered the bank, pulled what appeared to be a handgun, and made off with over $12,000 in cash. He fled on foot and reportedly got into a light colored minivan parked down the road.
A nine-month investigation by the Troop K Bureau of Criminal Investigation
led to identification and arrest of Terry Thompson, 36, of Poughkeepsie.
Captain John Ryan said despite a lack of strong leads, a tip received a few months after the heist led Investigator Michael Ramirez to develop Thompson as a possible suspect.
Thompson was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
