NEW PALTZ – SUNY New Paltz Police Chief David Dugatkin has resigned from the force.
In a letter to the college community, New Paltz Vice President for Student
Affairs Stephanie Blaisdell said effective May 4, Deputy Chief Mary Ritayik
will serve as interim police chief until the college “takes the
next steps in this transition.” Ritayik has been with the SUNY police
department since 2000.
Blaisdell’s letter cited the many accomplishments of the department under Dugatkin’s leadership, saying “throughout his tenure at the college, Chief Dugatkin has made substantial contributions to the SUNY New Paltz community.”
