Montgomery woman charged in residential burglary

TOWN OF CRAWFORD – A Montgomery woman is charged with a May 1 burglary of a residence on Hill Avenue in the Town of Crawford.
When the resident returned home on that day, they noticed several items missing and an open door.
Crawford Police, working with the homeowners, established a suspect,
identified as Kaleigh Helms, 19, of Montgomery. After questioning she
was charged with burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen
property, possession of burglar’s tools and criminal trespass. Helms
was committed to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or
$20,000 bond.
Most of the proceeds of the burglary including electronics, jewelry and cash were recovered.
