MOUNT VERNON – The 23-members of the Mount Vernon Public Library CSEA are expecting to see more money in their paychecks. After five years without salary increases, State Supreme Court Justice Lawrence Ecker issued a ruling requiring an arbitrator to order the library to give the employees raises that match those that have been given to CSEA workers at Mount Vernon City Hall.
Library workers have received the sale pay raises as City Hall for years, which is required by their union contract, but the current board of trustees has refused to honor that obligation for years.
There was no immediate word on if the library will honor the judge’s ruling.
