Albany man arrested in connection with 2016 Kingston bank robbery

KINGSTON – An Albany man has been arrested in connection with the
July 20, 2016 robbery of the Rondout Savings Bank at 130 Schwenk Drive
in Kingston.

Talmadge Lacy, 54, who was arrested on April 23, became a suspect in the
Kingston robbery after another bank robbery in Albany. He had robbed a
Trustco Bank branch in Albany on July 25, 2016. He was arrested by Albany
Police for that crime.

He was initially identified as a suspect because of the similarities in
the robberies and suspect descriptions. Further investigation by Kingston
Police identified Lacy as the person responsible for the Kingston bank
heist.

He was on parole for robbery at the time of the bank robberies.

No weapons were displayed during the robberies and no one was injured.
During the investigation, Kingston Police were assisted by the Ulster
County District Attorney’s Office, Albany Police, Ulster County
Sheriff’s Office, Town of Ulster Police, New York State Police and
New York State Parole.

Lacy is being held in the Albany County Jail.
