KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston arrested an 18-year-old Kingston man on a charge that he shot a 21-year-old woman in the leg last Tuesday, April 24.
The victim was taken to the hospital following the incident near Elmendorf Street and Broadway.
Detectives said the shooting was not random and the victim was the intended target, but they did not release a motive.
Investigation led police to arrest the 18-year-old, whose name they did not release, on felony charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon as well as an outstanding warrant for petit larceny
The investigation is continuing.
Detectives were assisted by the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, the URGENT Task for and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
