Danbury man arrested after his big rig struck State Police car

BEDFORD – A Danbury, Connecticut man is charged with diving while ability impaired by drugs and other crimes after the tractor-trailer he was driving struck a private vehicle and a State Police car while on I-684 in Bedford.
Troopers said Christopher Hillman, 29, of Danbury was driving a tractor-trailer in the middle lane of the highway at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 27 when he struck a car in front of him then an off the right should of the road and struck a State Police car that was pulled over while a trooper was conducting a vehicle and traffic stop.
Hillman’s truck continued between the guide rail and the entire side of the State Police car and then struck a pickup truck.
Hillman was also charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a controlled substance and several vehicle and traffic violations. He was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
